The ambitious beginning seems to be working directly on something from a science fiction movie. While we waited for Neuralink to present the progress. It’s made over the last couple of years in brain-computer interface technology, the New York Times and Bloomberg published information from an early briefing and its stuff that’s straight out of science fiction. The Elon Musk-backed company claims its “sewing machine-like” robot will be able to implant threads deep into a human brain.

Neuralink is building a device that allows you to control computers and phones with your brain. The company said that it can ‘read’ a rat’s mind. Tiny electrodes are implanted into the animal’s neuron and synapses.

The approval would allow Neuralink to start trials on humans.
Neuralink was found in 2017. The company has been extremely secretive about its work. Neuralink achieved numerous breakthroughs that allowed it to place high-speed computing systems include a brain. Neuralink causes less damage than existing techniques.
The company plan to drill 8 mm holes into a paralyzed human skull. Then it will implants through which they can control phones and computers. Future plans include using a laser to drill holes to reduce pain.
The team has developed a special robot with a 24-micron needle. The robot inserts threads into the brain. The threads can read the brain’s activity. These threads have been firmly under the skull and around 60 microns away from the neurons. The aim is to build a wireless device that’s usable at home for a long time. For this purpose, the company developed a tiny sensor. That has a diameter of 8 mm that can go into the brain.
The company said that you can implant 3 to 4 sensors into the brain and connect them with a wearable computer called the link.
The links sit behind your ear. Connecting the link will allow for a reading spike from neurons. As the first step, Neuralink will let you control mobile phones, mouse, and keyboard. It has also developed an iPhone app that’ll help you control the iPhone.
Musk also said that the company’s goal is to understand brain disorders and “preserve the brain”.
Max Hodak, CEO of Neurlink, says patients who have been diagnosed with spinal cord injuries are the first people to be able to test Neurulink devices.
